European Heritage Days in the Building of the Parliament

This year on 16-17 September, citizens in 50 countries celebrate Europe’s cultural heritage. This initiative of the European Heritage Days, launched by the Council of Europe in 1991, has been a joint action of the Council of Europe and the European Commission since 1999. The cultural events highlight local skills and traditions, architecture and works of art, in addition the broader aim is to bring citizens together in harmony even though there are differences in cultures and languages. Therefore became the motto of the event: Europe, the common heritage. The programmes on Heritage Days are free of charge, but it is necessary to pre register for participating on the tours.

Please note that most of our tours are held in Hungarian.

The Library of the Parliament has an English guided tour at 14:00 p.m. each day, on 16th and 17th September. The duration of the tour is about 30 minutes.
